The current news here is that Mactaggart and Mickel (with Persimmon Homes) are taking Inverclyde Council to the Court of Session to appeal against not being included in the final Local Development Plan 2019 - even although the plan was approved by the Council, the Reporter from the DPEA and the Scottish Government!

The proposal map shows that Mactaggart and Mickel planned to build houses within the area marked in red.

Mactaggart & Mickel don't own all this land.

The section at the roundabout in Wateryetts Drive is Inverclyde Council owned - the section with the green tint is owned by Scottish Water.

Mactaggart and Mickel have tried many times before to build here and have always been refused, the last time it was by the Council supported by the Reporter you can read his examination report HERE

Most of this area is what is called the Kilmacolm Meadow! (click the name to go there)

This area is the only accessible open green-space with no cows, sheep and most of the time no horses at the west end of Kilmacolm and is used daily by the residents for recreation etc.
